SLC-S29/W2-“Thinking and Ideas!| Simple Solutions to Big Problems!”

I am @saifuddinmahmud from Bangladesh. There is a beautiful and amazing challenge. The challenge name is SLC-S29/W2-“Thinking and Ideas!| Simple Solutions to Big Problems!” organised by @ninapenda. I am going to share my thoughts.
I want to talk about ways to solve the problem of traffic congestion.
Traffic congestion is a terrible urban problem. One of the most serious problems in the world today. Especially in developing countries including Bangladesh, traffic congestion is now a daily occurrence. Every day, thousands of people waste their valuable time stuck in traffic jams. Due to this traffic jam, mental stress, loss of productivity, economic loss and environmental pollution are increasing. However, modern technology or expensive measures are not needed to solve these problems. Some simple changes, realistic initiatives and proper use of laws can solve the traffic jam problem. The main reasons for traffic jams are unplanned urbanization, excess vehicles compared to the road, violation of traffic laws, encroachment on sidewalks, random parking of cars, people getting off and on without a designated place, inefficient traffic management, etc. This traffic jam is more due to reasons. Even though there are roads, they are not used properly. So I want to share some steps where expensive and technical steps will not be required.
Choose a global or local problem (education, waste, traffic, unemployment, loneliness, etc.).
Propose a simple, realistic solution that does not rely on advanced technology.
I proposed some way to solve traffic jam problem where don’t need any advance technology.
- First step: Creating public awareness.
This step is very important. We, the common people, are responsible in many ways for this traffic jam. Even though there is a footover bridge for crossing the road, we cross the road in the middle of the road. We stand anywhere on the road and signal to get on the bus or vehicle. After there is a specific bus stop, we stand anywhere to get on the bus. A small traffic jam is created whenever the bus stops there.
- 2nd step: Proper implementation of the law
We must be strict in following the law. Parking cars outside the specified place, taking public transport, not using the footover bridge, disobeying traffic signals, etc. should be kept under strict surveillance and those who disobey the law should be punished.
- 3rd step: Preventing car parking wherever there is.
Cars are parked around houses, markets, bazaars, etc. As a result, traffic jams are created. Therefore, a specific parking system should be introduced.
- 4th step : Use of fixed bus stops.
No passenger can board or disembark without a fixed bus stop. Even if a passenger signals for a bus without a bus stop, it should not be accepted.
- 5th step: Maintain the signal.
Arrange for fixed time in traffic signals. At a signal, the vehicle will wait for a fixed time of 5 minutes or more. Then the signal will be released. If random signals are given without following the fixed time, traffic jams will be created.
- 6th step: Close the shops on the sidewalk.
There are a lot of floating shops on the sidewalk. As a result, half of the road is blocked. As a result, traffic jams are created. Do not keep any shops on the side of the road or on the sidewalk.
- 7th step : Keep a lane system on the road.
Arrange separate lanes for small and large vehicles, rickshaws, autorickshaws, buses, trucks, etc. Do not allow rickshaws and autorickshaws to enter the main roads.
- Step 8 : Determine the time.
Schools, offices, markets, etc. start at the same time. In that case, changing the time can be beneficial. Shifting the office hours and the working hours of schools or other institutions can be beneficial. If everyone goes out at the same time, the pressure of vehicles on the road increases and traffic jams occur.
Who would benefit most from this solution?
If the above steps can be completed simultaneously, everyone can benefit from the general public of a country. People run from one place to another for the needs of life. If they cannot reach a specific place on a specific time, they face a lot of losses. Therefore, if this plan can be implemented, all the people can benefit.
What possible challenges or limitations do you think your idea might face?
Although these steps of mine are simple, many challenges may have to be faced in implementing them in many fields.
There are many people who know that the work is wrong but still do it because of their whims. Change their habits. Get them used to following the right rules. The number of traffic police is less than the required number in many places. Sometimes many neglect their duties and commit corruption. It will be difficult to make them traffic police-free and responsible. Before closing the parking system, introduce specific parking spaces everywhere. Many houses and markets do not have parking facilities. It will be difficult to bring those places under the parking system. There is reluctance among bus owners and drivers to use specific bus stops. Fear of low public pressure at specific places. This problem cannot be solved unless the behavior of transport workers can be changed. Above all, if alternative measures are not found before solving the problem, it is impossible to implement this step. Apart from this, there are many political and wealthy people who will use their influence to disobey the rules.
Thanks to my dear steemian friends Who read my post.

Hi @saifuddinmahmud, welcome to thinking and ideas week 2
Traffic congestion is a good topic to look into. But then I think constructing wider roads and setting traffic lights where necessary should help in controlling these congestion or possibly, there won't be any form of congestion.
Your ideas are well adapted.
