Share one idea you believe could improve lives (locally or globally).
In the present times, it is very necessary to introduce mental health education system in our education system. This is an idea that can bring change at all levels of individuals, families and society. We learn mathematics, science, language and technology from a young age. But how to understand our feelings, how to control anger or frustration, how to accept failure and move forward in life is rarely taught. We do not know how to control anger properly, so when we get overly angry, we behave badly with someone. Many people become addicted to drugs because they are unable to recover from frustration and failure. Many commit suicide again. Therefore, mental health is very important to be successful and healthy in life.
If self-awareness, emotion control, anger control, stress and depression control etc. are taught from the school level, then students will develop into good people. They need to be taught exercises to maintain good mental health.
Only mentally strong people can make a positive contribution to society.
Why is this idea important now?
The current times are very competitive and fast-changing. The young generation is suffering from mental stress due to social media, academic pressure, family expectations and uncertainty about the future. Many suffer from anxiety, depression and lack of confidence but they cannot express it. As a result, small problems gradually turn into big mental crises.
According to the World Health Organization, mental health problems are a major challenge for the current global population. However, mental problems are still seen as a normal problem in our society. Institutional education can play an important role in changing this perspective. When students are taught about mental health in schools, they are made aware of this issue, and open discussions are held with them, then a positive attitude will be created among students. They will learn and know how to improve mental health and can apply it in their lives.
Who do you feel needs to hear this idea the most?
This idea should be heard most from policymakers and the Ministry of Education. Because they can include new subjects in the curriculum. It is also important for school and college teachers and parents. If teachers are sensitive to the mental state of students, many problems can be identified at the beginning. Parents should also understand that mental well-being is as important as their academic success. This education also needs to reach the younger generation, so that they learn to take responsibility for their mental health.
What is the first small step someone could take to begin?
Change should always start with small steps. The first step can be to think about yourself for 5 minutes every day, write down your feelings, and think about your behavior at the end of the day. This is a simple method of self-review.
It can be beneficial to set aside "open discussion time" once a week in the family. By doing this, they can develop the habit of expressing their feelings to everyone easily.
Organizing sessions on mental health in educational institutions or workplaces can be beneficial. These small steps will gradually help build a conscious, compassionate, and mentally healthy society. If we accept mental health as a basic need, then it is possible to bring about positive changes, starting from personal lives and even at the global level.

Our mental health should be in check at all times, it is the core factor of our living. Most times people are burnout without noticing, it's a call for action.
