Today I hosted the Steem4Nigeria Community |SLC-S29/W1 –Thinking and Ideas!| If You Were in Charge! . I came to participate in the challenge. This challenge gives us an opportunity to think a little deeper about our own society, the people around us and the real problems. If we really had the power to decide,So what would we do? Today I am sharing with you some of my real feelings and thoughts in search of an answer to this question.

If you were given full authority for one year in your community or country, what is the first issue you would address?

If I were given the full power of my community or country for one year, then the first thing I would focus on is to build a humane and practical security system for the most neglected people of the society. Helpless mothers standing on the side of the road every day, women sitting with children in their arms, old parents begging with broken bodies, none of them suddenly became like this. Dropping out of education, not getting a job, illness, or not getting fair services due to corruption at some point in life has put them in this position.

Many children lose interest in studies due to the lack of practical education in the village education system. They learn to memorize books. But they don't learn how education is related to life. As a result they grow up unable to acquire employable skills. These young people once come to the city in search of work, but are disappointed by not finding suitable opportunities. Some turn to crime, some are forced to live on the streets. This whole cycle starts from the education gap. Corruption is connected with it. When ordinary people go to the hospital. Goes to office or wants to take any service. Then work is not done without bribe. This idea breaks their morale. There are many poor families who do not get treatment simply because they don't have the money, but that treatment could have saved their lives. The disparity in rural and urban health care exacerbates this hardship. Although there are modern hospitals in the cities, it is difficult to find a doctor in the villages.Women and children are the most affected. A child on the street doesn't just suffer from lack of food. He also lives in insecurity. An old mother or father, who has toiled all his life. If he takes refuge in the streets at his last age. So it's not just his personal failure, it's our society's failure. We have certain duties towards them, which we often forget.

If empowered, I would like to take an integrated initiative where education, employment,Health care and social security will work together. It is important not only to show kindness to the street people and give them food for a day, but to bring their lives back into the mainstream of society. Practical education, skill development, transparent service system and humanitarian approach. Only if these four things work together, the main solution of this problem is possible.I believe a society thrives only when its most vulnerable people feel safe. One year of power may not solve all the problems. But if a solid foundation can be laid for change in the lives of neglected people,Then that would be the most important start.

Why did you choose this issue over others?

I have chosen this subject before all other problems because it is a problem which silently but profoundly affects the entire society. A mother, an old father or a child sitting on the street is not just a symbol of poverty. They are living proof of the failure of our education system, employment structure, healthcare and social responsibility. Ignoring this problem makes all other developments meaningless. I have seen how a man gradually falls behind due to lack of education. He can't qualify for work because he doesn't get practical education. He is disappointed not to get a job. And that frustration pushes him to the edge of society. Within this one problem, the weakness of the education system, the youth employment crisis and the ill effects of corruption are intertwined. So I saw it not as a separate problem, but as the core of many problems.

On the other hand, the insecurity of women and children and rural-urban healthcare disparities hit these neglected people the hardest. Those who have no voice, those who have no one to speak to, suffer the most. I believe, the progress of a society should be judged by the position of its weakest people. If they aren't safe, big development projects or statistics have no value. That's why I put this issue above all other issues. Because even a small change here can light the light of hope in the lives of many people. If I get the power, I want to touch that place first.Where neglect is most concentrated and where change is most urgently needed.

What is that one difficult decision you would have to make?

That was a tough decision I had to make. That is to take strict action against corrupt officials of government or local institutions. It is a very difficult decision because many people will oppose me if I take such a step. They will say, "It's disrupting service" or "It's causing unnecessary stress." A lot of administrative problems are intertwined, and those who have been in power for a long time, will not leave easily. But I know, if we compromise with this corruption, justice and proper service to people will never reach that system. If we want to change the lives of mothers, children and the elderly on the streets, we must first tear the network of corruption. I may be unpopular, many will oppose, but this step is absolutely necessary to ensure equal opportunities and justice for all. On the other hand, if this decision is not taken, the problem will only grow to extremes. Health care, education, employment. All the sectors we want to improve will never materialize. So even though it's a tough and complicated decision, I'd take it,Because it is the most powerful step to solve the root problem.

####How would you explain this decision to people who disagree with you?

To those who would oppose my conclusions, I would like to explain my arguments with patience and concrete examples. I would tell them, "There are many in our society who live hungry, sick or insecure every day. Mothers, children or old people sitting on the streets are the result of our mistakes. We need a corruption-free, transparent and efficient administration to change their lives."I would like to point out that this is not a personal attack or an unpopular decision, but one that is vital to the long-term welfare of society as a whole. To those who say, "It will cause trouble or make people unhappy," I say, "Yes, there may be some inconvenience in the short term, but in the long run it will ensure equal opportunity and justice for all. If we establish integrity and rules today, the foundation of society will be strong for generations to come."
I would encourage them to support this move together. To understand, it is not just a change of administration or power, it is a humanitarian initiative to improve people's quality of life. With a mixture of sensibility and reality, I believe even the opposing people will realize with time,Why was it necessary to make this difficult decision?

Hi @samsunnaharsuity, welcome to thinking and ideas week 1

My Observation:

In as much as you have a very good mindset for the people, it would have been better if you choose one thing you can do and get it done in one year. As a leader, you don't have multiple task, you only outline them and follow suit.

Having a good plan and not being able to watch your time frame in accomplishing that plan, makes the leader a failure. I think you should always watch it.
