RE: Scouting Adventure - Game 48 - Day 28 (May 1, 2020)

Player 12 (1st)

Action 1: Move to the bunk-house at F23.
Crafting: Use the large nail and the back of the hatchet as a hammer to punch holes near the rim of the metal pot and attach 2 strings as straps to the pot. Send the pot and half-volleyball to P11 as a metal helmet with leather lining in exchange for 3 SBD.
Crafting: I carefully flatten 7 of the aluminum tubes using the back of the hatchet at 1/3 of its length, then bend the rods back and forth until they break. This will give me 21 pieces of aluminum rods with flattened ends. I then use the nail to punch holes in the flattened ends and thread a string through the holes, 5 pieces in each set. I tie knots in the string so that the rods are held in a bunch with 2 free ends that I can tie around my arm or leg. A 2nd string is threaded through the opposite holes and also knotted in the same way as the first string. With the metal rods over the top of my shins, I tie the 2 pieces of string around the back of my leg and I now have metal leg braces to wear! (2 pieces of string are used for each leg brace, using up all 4 pieces of string and 10 of the short rods.) I have 11 short (8") pieces of rod left over.
Action 2: I leave the short pieces of tubing in storage.
Action 3: Move to D17.

What does that armor protect you from?

Armor protects you from taking damage when being attacked.
Our base number is 10, so when being attacked, the attacker must roll 10 or more to hit you.
Suppose you have armor of 5 and the attacker's damage is 2.
The attacker would need to roll 10 or more twice just to get through the armor, then on the 3rd successful attack, they would finally do 1 damage to you. (2+2+2=6 damage but -5 armor = 1 damage)

Wow, it's alright.
