SLC-S31/W3-“Creative Interpretation| The Theme -“Silence Speaks” |
Interpret “Silence Speaks” creatively in an art, poem, photography.
I was standing at Black Mountains, at Telstra Tower to be precise in Canberra, watching land beneath and the sky, and the fading gold, as the day gently lowered its voice and chosen silence instead of speech. But the sound was loud and clear.
I saw Lake Burley Griffin, its water reflecting like a mirror sending waves of of sound in silence calling me, although only I could hear that sound coming to my ears and that voice too strong, loud and reaching to me, difficult to avoid .
I watched the setting Sun its shine reducing gradually in that winter evening. I felt it was sorry as if sensing me leave the country so bidding goodbye. That's right, I was about to leave that country for one year. They all were calling me.
I was standing in the tourist area watching deep green, like they slowly reminding me to come back like keep coming from Delhi to Canberra and probably that silence sound was too strong to neglect.
Oh, these hills standing in the distance, trying to touch horizon with that tenderness pinned in my memory which keeps calling me, in a silent sound I never forget but keep come back just to answer this invitation.
What message is being communicated through silence in your piece?
The trees had a strong message for me brought from different states of the country, their stems almost touching me as if trying to convey their message. Oh, yep, I could hear their message loud and clear.
They almost assured their shadows reminding me that their message is silent but it has depth, and this deep silent has a sound of their own. I felt as if they were asking, "Can you hear us?"
Then I looked at the sky, the clouds ready to pour any moment but that's Canberra where you can see them coming and touch you with their soft drizzles any moment and then move ahead with a wet smile. They have a different sound which you hear and feel on your body and soul. As the sun was ready to go down the hill, their message was loud and clear, they wanted me back asap.
Who is silent in your interpretation and why?
The entire area was silent but the lake was calling me, the hills were backing them up, the trees, all in unison a sound without words. They were silent but kept calling me in a gentle reminder and their silence was with inviting words.
For me this space with peace soothes my heart and soul or maybe it slows down the time, where the world, for that moment, makes me breathe perfect calm. That's how this place calls me in silence and I keep coming back without giving a second thought! This entire area always calls me in a loud sound of silence, or maybe others hear them too!
What happens if that silence is finally broken?
You see this scene needs my attention as it invites me without speaking a word in a language that we understand perfectly. Oh, for me these echoes always unbound if that sacred silence is broken. If the lake's surface cracks, or the hills blow by this sound, maybe the trees get snapped if the silence is broken.
If that silence is broken by any chance, sun rays will fade leaving chaos and bid me final goodbye. I will no more hear them call me from my distant home as that sound will reduce to a scream, but no silent gentle sound. I am scared if this silence ever gets broken, I will fly away like a scared bird that hears a gunshot.
My soul, will miss that soothing and peace and turn into an ache, the sound of silence will now become a roar, I will flee, as the echoes will chase me away from my calm, hideout which calls me in silence but will leave scars on my soul and mind. I feel this silent call is louder than lion's roar only if it breaks to attract me.

Thanks a lot @ahsansharif!!!
Your work is truly captivating and meaningful. The depth and beauty with which you have described the theme of ‘Silence Speaks’ is commendable. The depiction of Canberra’s Black Mountains, the lake, the setting sun and other natural scenes is so vivid that the reader feels himself in the same environment. You have presented silence not just as a state but as a speaking language, which is heard from the heart and touches the soul. In particular, the idea that elements of nature such as trees, mountains and clouds give us a message even when they are silent is very beautiful and unique. The feeling of separation, memories and the desire to return is also beautifully reflected in your writing, which makes it even more impressive. Moreover, the situation described when the silence is broken makes the reader think about how precious this state of peace is. Overall, this is an excellent, creative and inspiring piece of writing that leaves a deep impression on the heart and mind. Very good.
Thanks for your kind visit and wise words for my humble effort. Best regards!
It's my pleasure sir 😊.
