Pick and Write [Agricultural Word]👉#13
Agriculture Transportation Transportation is a crucial factor in agriculture, providing a link between farmers and their markets, as well as to suppliers and consumers. Agricultural productivity and the profit margin of the business can be diminished, if an effective transport network does not exist. Transportation is the movement of inputs required by agriculture, e.g., seeds, fertilizers, and machinery into the countryside and the shipment of produce to markets. Reduced post-harvest losses is one of the main significance of transport in agriculture.
For many of the agricultural products, especially perishable goods like milk, vegetables, fish and fruits, they have to reach the consumers rapidly. Lack of an efficient transportation network has led to the waste of products, especially perishable goods, hence farmers lose revenue as they have to sell their products at very low prices or even discarded. Effective transport has been made easier by having a good road network, and the use of refrigerated vehicles. Better transportation has provided access to wider markets to the farmer. This allows farmers to transport their produce to other markets where they can sell their products at a price higher than at the local market. This will enhance the income of the farmer and further encourage more production.
It also leads to increased competition and stable prices in agricultural markets. Investment in the transport sector would also promote development in rural areas. A good road and transport network between rural areas and urban areas would not only support agriculture but also the accessibility of schools, hospitals, and other services in rural communities. This would create investment in agriculture and other supporting industries, contributing to the overall growth of the rural economy. However there are a number of problems associated with transport in agriculture, especially in developing countries.
Poor road network conditions, high fuel costs, inadequate vehicles and facilities all contribute to higher production costs and reduced profit margins to farmers. The transportation needs of the agricultural sector may be addressed by investing more in infrastructure and technology, e.g. Improving road, railway networks, better transport facilities and storage, and also encouraging the use of more advanced means of transport like.
