YOU ARE ON MY HEART
- Today I take a word from the bible that I like a lot because, I frame my life *.
Deuteronomy 6; 4
Hear, Israel: Jehovah our God, Jehovah is one.
And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength.
And these words that I command you today will be on your heart;
And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and you shall speak of them when you are in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes;
And you shall write them on the posts of your house, and on your gates.
When Jehovah your God has brought you into the land that he swore to your fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that he would give you, in great and good cities that you did not build,
and houses full of all good, that you did not fill, and cisterns dug that you did not dig, vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant, and then that you eat and sate,
Be careful not to forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and him only serve, and swear by his name.
Here is a brief summary of
the first principles of faith and obedience. Jehovah our God is the only living and true God; He alone is God and he is only one God. We do not want to have another one. The triple mention of the divine names and the plural number of the word that is translated by God seem clearly to allude to a trinity of persons, even in this express declaration of the unity of the deity. Blessed are those who have this one Lord as their God. It is better to have a fountain than a thousand cisterns;a single God all sufficient than a thousand insufficient friends. This is the first and great commandment of the law of God, that we love him; and that we fulfill every part of our duty towards him from a principle of love: My son, give me your heart. We have to love God with all our heart, and with all our soul and with all our strength. This is: -1. With a sincere love, that is not of word or of language, but inwardly, in truth. 2. With a strong love. He who is our All must have our all, and none but Him. 3. With a superlative love; we must love God above all creatures and not love but what we love for Him. 4. With an intelligent love. To love him with all your heart, and with all the intelligence, requires that we see a good cause to love him. 5. With a whole love; He is ONE, our heart must be united in this love. Oh, may this love of God be poured out in our hearts
Here are the means to keep and keep in our heart and in our home. 1. Meditation We must put the word of God in our hearts so that our thoughts are daily occupied in it. 2. The education of children. Repeat these things frequently. Be careful and exact in the teaching of your children. Teach these truths to all who are under your care in some way. 3. Speak piously. Speak of these things with due reverence and seriousness for the benefit not only of your children but of your servants, friends and companions. Use every occasion to discuss with those around you, not dubious and debatable matters, but the clear truths and laws of God, and the things that correspond to our peace. 4. Frequent reading of the Word. God commanded his people to write the words of the law on their walls, and on parchment rolls that they should carry hanging from their wrists. This was obligatory to the letter for the Jews, as is the plan for us, namely, that by all means we must become familiar with the word of God to use it on all occasions, to prevent sin and to guide us in the must. We should never be ashamed of our religion or of recognizing ourselves under its control and government. Here is a warning: do not forget God in the day of prosperity and abundance. When given everything by gift, they were given to feel secure in themselves and to forget God. Therefore, we take care not to forget the Lord when you are safe and sound. When the world smiles, we are inclined to court him and hope to be happy in him, and we forget Him who is our only portion and rest. It takes a lot of care and caution at such a time. So, take care: be alert, having been warned of the danger. You will not tempt the Lord your God, despairing of his power and goodness, while we continue in the path of our duty, nor bragging about it when we go out of that way.
