Don't Abuse God's Grace

When it comes to the issue of righteousness we all stand no near it because we are all fallible. There is none righteous but God alone, He is the only one perfect.

God knows our weakness as humans. He knows we cannot save ourselves neither can we live a righteous life. For this reason He has made us righteous by faith in Christ Jesus so that we will have a right standing with God.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:Ephesians 2:8

We are saved by grace and not just by works. None of us could have saved himself from sin, if not for grace. Grace has given us access to come before God without fear or trembling. Those of us who used to be far from God have now come close becuase of God.

God wants us to walk in newness of life now that we have died to our old life. Grace is not a permit to continue sinning but a reason to live appreciate God's goodness and continue serving him.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Romans 6:1-6

Many Christians still hide under grace and commit sin against God. They think grace will still abound while they sin, that God will still be merciful and gracious.

Many have taken the gospel of grace to mean that ones a person is saved, he is saved forever. If it is so then God would not have commanded us to still live a holy life that pleasing to the Lord.

Salvation of one soul is a continuous process and not a one time thing. This is why the bible tells us to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Phi. 2:12

We will abuse grace if we assume that salvation of one soul is a one time process. We still need to work towards reaching perfection, to be blameless
