When we learn to be firmly rooted in God's truth, we can inevitably withstand the storms that come in life.

Never let lovingkindness and truth depart from you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart;

Proverbs 3:3

I'm sure that, like me, you know the story of the three little pigs. They build a house of straw. After being knocked down, they build another of sticks, and the last one they build of brick, strong and sturdy. Then the big bad wolf comes along and blows and blows to destroy their houses. He succeeds in destroying the first one, then the second, but he fails in destroying the brick house, as it remains strong. Does this story sound familiar to you?

Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain descended, the floods rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, with a great fall.

Matthew 7:24-27

The Lord Jesus Christ taught exactly the same principle in His Word. He showed us a story about a man who built a house on rock while another man in the same condition built one on sand. Suddenly, a great wind and rain arose, and so the house that was on a solid foundation remained firm, while the one on the sand fluctuated and was carried away by the current.
Here, while the story is a story of construction, the teaching speaks of firmness in convictions, in what one learns, especially speaking of the Word of God and firmness in it. The construction of everything in our lives must be based on the reliability of God's Word, and this will help us withstand the storms that arise, regardless of their nature.
Today's word urges us to always allow God's Word to remain within us, in our hearts. The truth must be a part of our lives, just like breathing, and the question is, how do we achieve this? To live the truth of the Gospel, we must evaluate every thought and every action from the perspective of truth. To do this, we must read and know the truth. We must also accept God's Word as a definitive guide and thus learn to communicate with love and compassion. We must pray to God to ask that we be humble yet relentless, and that God's Word be non-negotiable for us. And the foundation of all this is that we nourish ourselves daily with the word of God so that it may be our sustenance.

Let us always remember that God's truth is both a delight to Him and a blessing to us.
