Discovering God's will.

Following the Lord is not a simple act or something we "have to do." Following the Lord can become an adventure beyond compare, and above all, something very rewarding.
Jesus answered and said to him, "Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; and the word you have heard is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.
25 These things I have spoken to you while being with you. 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and will remind you of all that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, nor let them be afraid.
John 14:23-27
Discovering God's will is a continuous adventure with many rewards and wonderful situations. The Bible, in this case, is our map, and the Holy Spirit is the person who guides us and gives us signs at every step.
How does He do this? God can speak to us through circumstances, also through what happens to us, even when the situation seems negative. We can develop the ability to discern the meaning of each situation, and to do so, we must connect with biblical principles and thus understand what is happening to us.
As we incorporate God's word into our minds, after being programmed with biblical values, we use our internal alarm system to determine God's plan for our lives, as we acquire a vision much more oriented toward God's principles for our lives. ##### God can also give us advice through other people. There are people who have less growth and others who are much more developed than us. God can use anyone so that, through their discernment, they can advise us and guide us along the path as older brothers.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
James 1:5
