Curiosity kills us, we read the word of God and many times we get wrong ideas of the meaning. We can better understand if we take its context, ask the Holy Spirit of God for guidance and he will reveal the truth of the scriptures.

Delight yourself also in Jehovah,
And he will grant you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord,
And trust him; and he will.
He will display your righteousness like light,
And your right as noon.
Be silent before Jehovah, and wait on him.
Do not be upset because of the one who prospers in his way,
For the man who does evil.

Psalm 37:4-7

It is vitally important that when we decide to study the word of God and read a text we consider its context since we can easily get a wrong idea about the meaning or teaching that it can bring to our lives.

On many occasions we hear the brothers say "He will grant you the desires of your heart" and of course! This is super motivating since it leads us to think that God will do absolutely everything we want, just enough to ask, but we can think this way if we take it out of context. Why? If we read the whole chapter, we learn that God does fulfill, in those of us who delight in him, we also read elsewhere that many times we do not receive because we do not ask well, that is, we only focus on our desires.

When we delight in God, we spend time at his side, we rejoice at his side and we rejoice in his desire in us, when our desires are aligned with his we find delight in his presence and his word.

The same thing happens when he says: "Commit your ways to Jehovah and he will do it", this is very nice, but below we read "Keep silent and wait on him". Let us remember that David expresses himself from a grateful heart and "Heart according to the heart of God".

Let's not forget the following!

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Matthew 6:33

We may read God's word and believe that God is a magic lamp of instant gratification, but God's word reveals an ALMIGHTY, wise and loving God. Let us seek complete understanding in the word of God and ask the Holy Spirit for its revelation in order to grow into the new man who is in Christ Jesus.
