The heavenly rewards that await us
LINKHe also said to the one who had invited him, "When you prepare a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers, your relatives, or your rich neighbors, lest they in turn invite you back, and you be repaid. 13 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, and the blind. 14 And you will be blessed. For they cannot repay you, but you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."
Luke 14:12-14
Children aren't the only ones who like to receive rewards or gifts. Adults are also motivated by incentives! We always remember that God makes promises in His words to those who follow Him and walk in His ways. We receive some benefits such as abundance, divine favor, and joy, among many others. We experience these favors in our lives, and many more. We remember that we will receive many other favors or benefits in heaven when we are with Jesus. As Christians or followers of Christ, we should not be afraid of what will happen regarding judgment, since we will be clothed with His righteousness.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Romans 8:1
We can understand a little more about divine rewards. The Bible describes them as several crowns. First, it is the crown of life that is granted to those believers who remain steadfast and endure all trials.
12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; For when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12
Later, he also speaks of a second crown, which is called "the incorruptible crown." I close quotation marks, "This crown is given to those who have the great desire to be followers of God and walk in obedience before him."
Then, we have the crown of righteousness, which is given to those who desire and eagerly await the coming of Christ and thus live righteously through him. We also have, lastly, the crown of life, which will be given to those who share the word with those in need and those who hear it.
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 Everyone who strives hardens in all things, even they that they may receive a crown. corruptible, but we, incorruptible. 26 So I run, not like a daring man; I fight, not like one beating the air. 27 But I discipline my body and make it my slave, lest, after preaching to others, I myself should be disqualified.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
