God considers every action we perform as an act of service and love toward others, and God promises rewards.

But we are persuaded of better things concerning you, beloved, and things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this way. 10 For God is not unjust, so as to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward his name, in that you have ministered to the saints and do so. 11 But we desire that each one of you show the same diligence until the end, for the full assurance of hope,

Hebrews 6:9-11

Let us remember that God has given salvation "by grace" to those who believe in Christ as Savior. We do not have the ability to deserve it, much less earn it. Yet God recognizes our good works of love and service to others and therefore promises rewards. There is genuine service driven by the love of God, and all of this brings results for his glory. This allows human needs to be met through divine ministry based on love.

Behold, I am coming soon, and my reward is with me, to give to every man according to his work.

Revelation 22:12

Here we have the Lord's promise clearly stated, "He will give to every man according to his work." There is no great or small work; we will all be rewarded for the service of love performed.
Perhaps we think that blessings and rewards are only those directly upon us. We experience blessings when we contemplate how God blesses others through us. Blessings are not only for the life to come, they are also for this life here on earth. We are blessed by pleasing God and leading others to service and living by faith.
Blessing others is both a responsibility and a benefit. Let us act in the light of God's word, pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and aim to glorify God in all things. Let us always remember that God rewards our work, both in heaven and here on earth.
