Let us pray and seek God's grace to discern God's love and power that are available for us in this life.

When you lie down, you will not be afraid,
But you will lie down and sleep peacefully.
25 You will not be afraid of sudden terror,
Nor of the coming destruction of the wicked,
26 For the Lord will be your confidence,
And he will keep your foot from being caught.

Proverbs 3:24-26

We see throughout the psalms that the prophet David is very certain that God was always with him at all times. His psalms reveal this; he understood very well that God was a participant in his life at all times, and just like David, we must train our eyes to be able to see God's presence at work in our lives.

I have set the Lord always before me;
For He is at my right hand, I will not be moved.

Psalm 16:8

When we talk about seeing or contemplating God, we are not talking about something occasional or fortuitous; this is about a lifestyle, about choosing to seek God day by day and trusting in Him with all our strength. Through His word, God reveals Himself with the power of His Holy Spirit within us. Let us know, then, that those who walk with the Lord in this way can control their thoughts, their habits, their attitudes, and above all, the words that come out of their mouths. In this way, we can discern and discard sin to live a life of righteousness. Living this way allows us to have spiritual clarity and develop an awareness of God's presence in our lives.
A very important practice we can carry out today is to take a few minutes before going to sleep simply to remember the events that have happened during our day. Let us remember and visualize that God is at work in our lives and seek God's hand in every action. Let us think about how God has protected us in certain situations, how He has answered our prayers, how He has helped us in certain situations. The constant practice of this reflection imbues our lives with the reality of His love and care for us day after day.
This is one way to discover the evidence of God's great love, which is present for us everywhere. Learning to see it, developing spiritual acuity, and nurturing that perspective will give us greater firmness in God's power and love for us.
