I couldn't agree more with this:

Jesus really does mean for us to move mountains.

Like you've rightly explained, our mountains connote challenges, and issues of life, generally, that appears difficult to surmount.
However, Scriptures says with God all things are possible. So, there's no problem or challenge that anyone seem to be going through, which bigger than God Almighty.
