Text:Mark 6:2

And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

Wisdom is an element of personal character that enables one to distinguish himself among others. Wisdom is the discretionary use of knowledge for the greatest good and for the benefit of mankind.

It is the ability to apply relevant knowledge in an insightful way, especially to different situations from that wish the knowledge was gained. Wisdom is the ability to make a decision based on the combination of knowledge, experience and intuitive understanding. Wisdom is the ability to know and apply spiritual truths.

Luke 2:46

And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

WISDOM IS A GIFT FROM GOD.

Wisdom is a gift divinely inpacted into us by God for the enhancement of his kingdom and Enhancement of our lives beyond the natural course.

God gives us wisdom according to his is will, purpose for his work on earth. His wisdom superceeds every other wisdom.

EXODUS 28:3

And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.

ECCLESIASTES 2:16

For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.

WISDOM IS PROFITABLE

Wisdom is a package encircled with great profits, for our development and transformation and defense etc.
Wisdom in its applications and results can create open doors for us.

Ecclesiastes 7:11-12

Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.

For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.

Proverbs 8:1

Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

1King 4:29

And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.

1King 3:12

Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.

1King 10:23

So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.

Wisdom can be derived by asking the Lord in prayers, in line with his Word.

2 Chronicles 1:10

Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

WISDOM CAN BE AQUIRED BY TEACHING AND EXPERIENCE

Wisdom can be acquired through learning and teaching. We gain wisdom from given ourselves to continuous teaching and learning excercise. This is often referred to as wisdom acquired by books.

Job32:7

I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.

Job33:33

If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.

Psalm105:22

To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.

Psalm111:10

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Proverbs4:5

Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

Luke21:15

For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

Acts 6:10
