STEEMCHURCH: Walking with the Lord
Christians often lead to an almost total departure from the practice of faith because they are more committed to their own things and desires than to the Lord, and it is necessary to take this fact seriously and carry out greater attention on our life. spiritual.
If we want our families to continue in their faith process, we must show them expressions of faith and our Christian commitment, because in true believers faith translates into attitudes, since otherwise it is not fertilized and does not make the person grow to take them to maturity, which is the commitment to truly be disciples of the Lord.
Today I want to tell you a story: A disciple went to his pastor and said: Pastor, I want to find God; the shepherd, as it was very hot, smiled, and invited the young man to bathe in the river.
When the young man dived, the shepherd reached him and held him by force under the water for a few moments until he let him return to the surface; Then he asks what he wanted most while he was under the water, the air, he answered.
And do you want God in the same way? He asked, for if you wish so, you will find him, but if you do not have this burning thirst, your efforts and your knowledge will be of no use to you; You can not find faith or God if you do not want it as the air to breathe.
Let's read the Word of God in Matthew 4: 18-22 "When Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon, called Peter, and Andrew his brother, who cast the net into the sea; because they were fishermen. And he said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men." And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. Passing from there, he saw two other brothers, Jacob the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee his father, who mended their nets; and he called them. And they, immediately leaving the boat and their father, followed him. "
Being a disciple is the most important thing in life, it is what you can not put an excuse for and leave for later; we must commit everything to Jesus and respond immediately to his call as did the disciples on the shore of the lake, who "immediately leaving the nets, followed him" Matthew 4:20.
It is not easy to be a disciple of the Lord, and that is why we find cases where the called ones do not accept it, and in other cases the disciples withdraw, abandoning the path, but in spite of everything, the Lord respects the freedom of each one for Follow him or let his call pass.
God calls, and you choose to heed the call or renounce it, but Jesus will always wait for you to decide to be his disciple because he wants disciples to follow him with pleasure and freely to learn his teachings and then make them known to others proclaiming that the kingdom of God is near.
And the faithfulness of the believers is a fundamental condition for announcing the gospel and for the mission of the church; The reality is that being a disciple of Christ can cost us everything we are or have.
The call does not allow delays, and the answer must be decided, immediate, and unconditional, when Jesus calls, the answer must be "instantly"; and the decision is expressed through the renunciation of self, as the Lord said: "If anyone wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me" Mark 8:34.
The cross is interpreted in different ways, according to each one, but things get complicated when the Lord tells us: "If anyone wants to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross every day, and follow me" Luke 9 :2. 3; is that something happens in our lives when we take the cross, and it happens because we emerged victorious from the most important war, the one maintained with Satan, with sin and death who were defeated on the cross, an instrument of death that became an instrument of life eternal
God is looking for not only a clinging bride but also a walking partner. From the very beginning, God had a relationship with Adam and Eve that found them "walking in the garden in the cool of the day" (Genesis 3:8). God created man for the enjoyment of a walking relationship that involved companionship, dialogue, intimacy, joint decision-making, mutual delight, and shared dominion. God longs to walk with you, which is why his arms of grace have been pulling you into a closer walk with him.
This is a wonderful write up on being true disciples. May God give us the strength and faith to be able to put everything aside and truly seek him..
