steemchurch: Grow with Jesus

in #steemchurch7 years ago

Although Jesus is the son of God, he came to live among us as an ordinary man. He stripped himself of his divinity and wisdom, of all his glory and power to be born of a woman. Since I did not have any knowledge, I need to learn everything like any child. In addition to feeding, supporting and educating him, his parents taught him to love the Holy Scriptures, instructed him in the divine principles and guided him to the right path, which would guide him to fulfill the purpose of the Lord.

The gospel of Luke says that when Jesus was a young man "he grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men" (Luke 2:52). Not only did it increase in size but it also prospered in favor and divine wisdom. Maria lulled him with hymns and samos while breastfeeding him. And Jose, was the one who taught him the art of carpentry, a trade with which Jesus supported his mother and his brothers after his father passed away. I imagine Jose carving the wood while he narrated to his little one the feats of lord. He was the one who took him by the hand to the temple, who made him memorize proverbs and recite biblical passages. Thus, little by little, Jesus learned to love and obey his earthly parents and his heavenly father.

In the same way that Jose and Maria planted in the heart of Jesus the word of God, parents have the obligation to plant that spiritual seed in the minds of our children. The Bible warns: "Educate your child as a child, and even when he grows old he will follow your teachings" (Proverbs 22: 6). There is a time to educate in the spiritual fruits: "Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance" (Galatians 5:22). That time is during childhood. In this stage, children receive with docility the knowledge that will lead them to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

Our society needs men and women with fear of God; wise and understood in the principles of the kingdom, with dispocision to the service and love of neighbor. Contrarily, we have raised egalitarian, selfish, lazy, angry, ambitious, perverse children. We are living the days that the apostle Paul predicted:

"People will only have love for themselves and for their money, they will be arrogant and proud, they will mock God, they will be disobedient to their parents and ungrateful, they will not consider anything sacred, they will not love or forgive, they will slander others and they will not have control They will be cruel and hate what is good "(2 Timothy 3: 2-3).

Our educational system has taken the gospel out of school programs and we have taken it away from our homes. We can not long for a just society if we have planted disobedience to God's principles. The change and the renewal will come when we have obeyed the exhortation of Jesus

"Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them, for such is the kingdom of God" (Luke 18:16).

"The Lord Himself will instruct all your children, and great will be their welfare" (Isaiah 54:13)
