Biblical Principles for the Blessing
In the Bible we find many promises that God established for his people and that are still valid for us today. In times of difficulty it is difficult to have the necessary faith to access these promises, since we are going to walk safely but there are circumstances that make us doubt the promises of God and that are accessible to us in times of difficulty.
2 Corinthians 5: 7 (because we walk by faith, not by sight)
It is not about what my eyes see, but about what I believe God can do for me, because although what I see is not encouraging, I have a God who can make the Impossible possible.
Deuteronomy 28: 1-2 It will happen that if you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God, to keep and do all his commandments that I am giving you today, so the LORD your God will exalt you above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings will come upon you, and they will overtake you, if you will obey the voice of the LORD your God.
1Corinthians 2: 9 Rather, as it is written, Things that eye did not see, nor ear heard, Nor have they gone up in the heart of man, They are what God has prepared for those who love him.
WHAT BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES DO WE NEED TO FOLLOW TO ACHIEVE BLESSING?
A principle is a rule or rule that we apply regularly to obtain some result or achieve something we want.
In the Bible we find a series of PRINCIPLES that lead us to reach the blessing of God, the Lord promised to bless his people, as long as they listened, kept and put into practice his word, that is, if they committed themselves to do that God was committing to his blessing. If we know God we know this:
Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man to repent. He said, and will not he? He spoke, and he will not execute it?
Within the BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES that bring us blessing are:
Obedience
Genesis 26: 1-3 Afterward there was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham; and Isaac went to Abimelech, king of the Philistines, in Gerar. And the Lord appeared to him and said to him, "Do not go down to Egypt; dwell in the land that I will tell you. Live as a stranger in this land, and I will be with you, and I will bless you; for to you and to your descendants I will give all these lands, and I will confirm the oath that I made to Abraham your father.
Genesis 26: 12-14 And Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped that year a hundredfold; and Jehovah blessed him. The man was enriched, and prospered, and became great until he became very powerful. And he had a flock of sheep, and a herd of cows, and much tilling; and the Philistines envied him.
The example of Isaac is very significant, even though the region in general lived moments of great need and hunger, so much so that people were migrating to Egypt and maybe to other places. Isaac received a direct order from God that advised him to remain in the place where he was because God promised to bless him, Isaac decided to obey God against all predictions and the result was blessing, prosperity and abundance.
Generosity
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, tight, shaken and overflowing will give in your lap; because with the same measure with which you measure, they will measure you again.
Proverbs 3: 9-10 Honor the Lord with your goods, and with the first fruits of all your increase; And your barns shall be full with abundance, and your vats shall overflow with new wine.
Mal 3: 10-12 Bring all the tithes to the storehouse and let there be food in my house; and prove me now in this, says Jehovah of Hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you, and pour out a blessing over you until there is too much room. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he will not destroy the fruit of the earth; neither will your vine in the field be barren, says the LORD of hosts. And all nations will call you blessed; for you will be a desirable land, says the LORD of hosts.
In times of financial strife it is difficult for us to be generous, to share what we are receiving as we think first of all of myself and my family, it is difficult for us to give, to share what is ours, to offer in the Church among other things. But God promises that if you give it, if you honor God with what you have, he promises abundance, asks us to test him to open the window of heaven and pour out all his blessing on us. Let us follow these principles that are a guarantee of our blessing.
Fidelity
Matthew 25:21 And his lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a little, I will set you much; enter into the joy of your lord.
Luke 16:10 He who is faithful in a very little, is faithful also in the most; and the one who in the least is unjust, also the most unjust.
Sometimes we think that we have little to share and we ask the Lord to increase our income in order to help others, when we are able to do something for the people with what little we have then God will know that we are capable of managing greater things.
Sowing and Harvesting
Galatians 6: 7 Be not deceived; God can not be mocked: for whatever a man sows, that will also reap.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, tight, shaken and overflowing will give in your lap; because with the same measure with which you measure, they will measure you again.
Luke 6:31 And as you want men to do to you, so also do you to them.
The principle of sowing and harvesting applies in all areas of our daily life, everything that man sows that harvests and he who sows scarcely harvest.
Luke 16: 1-13 And he said to his disciples, There was a rich man who had a steward, and he was accused before him as a dissipater of his goods. Then he called him, and said: What is this that I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, because you can no longer be a steward. Then the steward said to himself: What shall I do? Because my master takes away my stewardship. Dig, I can not; Beg, I'm ashamed. I know what I will do so that when I am removed from the stewardship, they will welcome me into their homes. And calling each one of his master's debtors, he said to the first: How much do you owe to my master? He said: One hundred barrels of oil. And he said: Take your account, sit down soon, and write fifty. Then he said to another: And you, how much do you owe? And he said: One hundred measures of wheat. He said: Take your account, and write eighty. And the master praised the bad steward for having done wisely; because the children of this century are more astute in dealing with their fellowmen than the children of light. And I say to you: Win friends through unjust riches, so that when they are lacking, they will receive you in the eternal abodes. He who is faithful in very little, also in the most is faithful; and the one who in the least is unjust, also the most unjust. For if you were not faithful in the unrighteous riches, who will entrust to you the true? And if you were not faithful in others, who will give you what is yours? No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will esteem the one and despise the other. You can not serve God and riches.
We are only administrators of a resource that God put in our hands, what you have now is only a portion of what really belongs to you and according to how you administer it, as is your generosity then God will give you what really belongs to you.
Mark 9:23 Jesus said to him, If you can believe, he who believes everything is possible.
