Lose to win!
Today we see a text that goes against all human logic. We have Jesus who never says, "Do what is right for you." Jesus asks us to surrender our lives, and in that way we will find true life!
The advice of this world is different from what Jesus asks. This world tells you, "Do what makes you happy, only worry about your own things," while the Lord says, "Give me your life, let go of control, and live for me." This may sound too crazy until it becomes reality.
Let us not try to save our lives "our" way. When we become independent of God, we simply end up empty. But when we surrender to him, we find the truth, life!
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.
