Everything we own is from God
God blesses us so that we always have enough to give and generously help every good cause. ” The apostle Paul reminds the Corinthian church where the resources they had came from and that they would give as an offering. Knowing this helps us in two ways: to take away pride and idolatry for the money from our hearts and to trust in God's full provision.
The Lord Jesus taught: “No one can serve two masters, for he will despise one and love the other, or he will love one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and wealth ”Mat 6:24. Be careful that money produces pride in us and we make it our idol.
God is the owner and worthy of worship. If God is the Creator then He is the King. Psalm 24 begins “The earth is the Lord's and his fullness; the world, and those who inhabit it ”and ends by saying“ Who is this King of glory? Jehovah of armies, He is the King of glory. ” When one recognizes God as the Creator and owner of all things (including ours) then we will let Jesus be the Lord of our possessions (1 Chron 29: 11-17).
