The Best Day for a Missionary (WORD)
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
THIS TOOK PLACE YESTERDAY. A LOOK INTO THE LIFE OF A MISSIONARY IN A FOREGN LAND
My goal with this post is to bring glory and honor to the Name of Jesus Christ. I have doing a series on the Word of God. I have not called it a series, but every bible post for over two weeks has been on the Word. The thing with the Word, we have to be doers of the Word and not hearers only.
Being a foreign missionary is sometimes very difficult. One day last year they found a cache of weapons in our neighbor’s house. There were so many weapons, including Rocket Propelled Grenade Launchers, Automatic Weapons, Ammunition and drugs. If you were to lay them all side by side on a football field, over half of the field would be covered. You can see this house from our house. Our area has been under Martial Law for over a year and just last week we could here gunfire and explosions from our house. The fighting was less than 1/2 mile away. One day last year, on a Sunday morning the neighborhood where I was going to minister, 29 people died as some locals clashed with the police. There are some areas that are restricted to Westerners.
Many have asked why we would stay in an area like this. Why not go where there is Peace and Safety? Why would your risk your life or live where you can hear explosions? The above photo tells why. For me this is the greatest joy and makes everything worthwhile. People coming to Jesus. People hungry for God’s Word! People that need to hear the Good News that is supposed to be preached to the poor!
The Heart of a Missionary
- To win the lost at any cost.
- To go without so others can have.
- To cry and pray throughout the night for people you don’t even know.
THERE ARE TWO THINGS I WOULD GIVE TO ANYONE SINCE I STARTED FOLLOWING JESUS. FOOD FOR THE STOMACH AND FOOD FOR THE SOUL. A MEAL OR A BIBLE!
That is me standing way in the back! Happy to be here for moments like this.
When we first moved here, almost 5 years ago, I found a statistic that said, just in our region there are 70,000 homes without 1 bible. The average home has 7 occupants. This equals 490,000 people without access to God’s Word. Immediately I asked God for 70,000 bibles. To God’s Glory we have given away over 13,000 bibles so far. 19% of the way there amd believing the rest will come. Even after 5 years, I have no personal plans of ever leaving.
If you read my posts, this is the typical photo you will see.
In my heart today the sun is shining! Some weeks we do this kind of meeting every day. Some days 2 or 3 places. Going to remote villages, even island areas where the Gospel has not yet gone. To people not yet reached! The sad times are when we run out of provision for bibles and gas for our vehicle. But the great times and what makes it all worth it, is what you see in these photos taken yesterday. People coming to Christ and people receiving their own Bible in their local dialect. I am thankful for everyone that has and continues to help us with this amazing work. The command is to Go!
Thank you for your time!
