What do you live?

From the most common to the rarest case, a slang that describes this situation well, what gives us sustenance, what makes us terms of living it is what we say we "live by that."

For example, if I work to support myself I say "live work" if I hold through money from my parents I say "live money from my parents," if I still Sostino me because of an inheritance received say " I live from the inheritance. "

This expression: "I live on such a thing", is well suited, because without that food, without that sustenance, without the protection given by such things, we could not survive. Then we can say that what keeps us alive are those things.

Without work I could not live, because I would not have to buy food and die. Without my parents' money - in another situation - I would not get food and protection, die. Without inheritance - in a rarer case - I would not get food and protection too, die.

Then those situations, those things allow us to live, those things that give us the conditions to stay healthy and continue with our lives.

But if our carnal life depends on food, which is given by work and in other ways, on which our spiritual life depends? Do we live from that, spiritually speaking? What makes us survive spiritually? What gives us the possibility to continue? What protects us from spiritual death?

About that I would like to meditate quickly.

Just as I and maybe live from work, they depended to live on the offerings.

You may think that this has nothing to do with you, the way a tribe of a people in the Middle East lived 2500 years ago. But in reality your spiritual life depends on you to understand this.

We know from the first letter of Peter that we are a holy nation, a royal priesthood. Then we can say that, in the spiritual dimension, these Levites are us.

Being like these Levites, spiritually speaking, we can say that we live from the sacrifices offered to the Lord, too.

But what offer is that? What food is what we receive to live? Who gives us that spiritual food so that we can continue alive? How to know if we are eating of that spiritual food or not?

There was only one sacrifice for me and for you, just a pleasing sacrifice to God. This was the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who came into the world and died for our sins.

Now, today, just as the Levites lived on the offers, as were the offers that fed them and that gave them an opportunity to live. Only by Christ I and you can live, only believing that He came in the form of a man and died for mine and his sins and rose again, redeeming us, launching our offenses and crimes in the sea of ​​God's oblivion, which will never again ask us account .

Through Jesus we are saved, through Jesus we live and without Jesus we would die of hunger, we would not sustain ourselves and we would have an eternal spiritual death. But today He gives you the opportunity to feed on that spiritual source, He gives you the opportunity to live through this pleasing offer to the Lord, just believe in his name.

As for the Levites, it is not for silver and gold, it is not for money, it is not for merit, but you receive that spiritual nourishment by the mercy of God, poured out on your life.

We do not work to receive an inheritance the rich man gives to whoever he wants, whom he loves. In the same way the Lord Jesus, the richest of all, will not give you that inheritance for some work, for something you have done, but it will give you that inheritance because He simply loves you and thus wanted you to receive it.

You only need to accept that inheritance that the Lord has prepared for you with love, to accept it you need to sign a document, but not on paper, that document is your heart, you have to point out in it that you believe in the Lord Jesus, so you will live eternally for that inheritance.
