We must continually return to the biblical truth that God is our true Father, and we are his true children. We must return to the supreme blessing of the gospel: to be made true children of God in the Son. There is no relationship that brings us closer to the sovereign and sublime God than the filial relationship.
Other descriptions of God have become preeminent: Sovereign, Redeemer, Sublime, Majestic, Holy, etc. All these are biblical descriptions of God, and we must use them, but the New Testament instructs believers to approach God primarily as Father.
