The collaboration of Christians in order to a just and peaceful society is not exhausted, certainly, with the payment of taxes. It should also extend to the promotion of common values, such as the family, the defense of life, peace, solidarity with the poor.

"Give to Caesar what is of Caesar; to God, what is God's. " Therefore, one should not give to Caesar what is of God. To Caesar, therefore, it is not lawful to give, to sacrifice, the lives of people. According to the repeated teaching of Jesus, the poor are of God, the little ones are his beloved ones: the kingdom of God belongs to them. Then "nobody has to abuse them. It is not necessary to sacrifice the life, dignity or happiness of the people to any power. And, no doubt, no power today sacrifices more lives and causes more suffering, hunger and destruction than that dictatorship of a faceless economy without a truly human objective that the powerful on Earth have managed to impose.
