Having Done All, God expects Us to STAND!
Ephesians 6: 13
KJV: Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
ESV: Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
NIV: Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
AMP: Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].
While preparing for an all-night rehearsal yesterday, the spirit of God dropped this word in my heart to exhort the people.
The 6th chapter of the book of Ephesians is a chapter that emphasizes healthy lifestyle as a Christian. It begins from relationship within the family to a personal health.
From the 10th verse of the day the chapter, we are being fore-armed that in this life there shall arise circumstances that will want to shake us off our feet, as such, the need for us to put on the WHOLE armour of God.
The armour as detailed in the later verses are meant to give the child of God a perfect and complete coverage from head to toe while in this pilgrimage. Scripture talks about:
- the helmet of salvation,
- the breastplate of righteousness,
- the belt of truth,
- the shield of faith,
- the sandal of the gospel of peace,
- the sword of the spirit
All the spiritual armoury caters for the attack and defensive needs when combated in this life.
However, the emphasis of the today's message was the intention of God concerning the armoury He has given to us.
God simply wants us to be STANDING after everything. The upright posture of standing is a posture of victory and authority.
Sad that some believers today are crawling, while some are being dragged on the floor. The reason being that they were injured in the Battle of life. The injured man cannot stand erect, and is also prone to more attack and or enslavement.
As you read this blog, be reminded that it is the heartbeat of God that you be STANDING after everything.
Are you still standing?
