My Steem solar/electricals diary-Day 5 [19th May, 2024]: Carpentry day

in #steemelectric29 days ago

It's been over 8 days since my last update on the Steem solar and electricals progress and I thought it would be nice to mention what's going on at the moment.

But before that, I'll like to address one thing....and that would be :

  • Clarity of updates

Clarity of updates

To avoid confusion, all updates concerning Steem solar & electricals business would be on my personal blog(@ubongudofot) for now and not on @steemelectricals account, whereas, all updates concerning the "Steem lighting Africa project" would be on the @steemelectricals account.

Update No.4

Like I mentioned on my previous post about the task that would be done in the Steem solar & electricals shop as shown below...

  • The next thing would be fixing of the shelves. (This is still in preparation by the carpenter).
  • Cleaning of the floor
  • And fixing of the sign post of this shop

Some of those things were done yesterday, though a little part still remain and would be completed on Monday.

The shelves were fixed yesterday and a very little part is still remaining to be completed on Monday 21st May, 2024.

The woods(planks) were well planed. Initiatially, I wanted to use an MBF wood, but I was advised by my carpenter not to think of using that since I might be keeping heavy item on them. Though it could make the work even more neat, but the durability is not guaranteed if I am placing heavy item for a long time.

"A word" they say, is " enough for the wise". I am not too wise, but I am not a fool either, so I listen to his suggestion. And finally, we later use a good plank for the entire work.

The durability of this wood is guaranteed, it would be sustainable. And there is something I appreciate about it. It has to do with the strength of the wood. It would be strong enough to carry heavy items on the shelves.

The price of this plank is also friendly compared to the MBF I wanted to use before which is almost 7 times the plank price for 1 sheet of it.

That is... 1 sheet of an MBF wood is 8fit by 4 fit which is #30,000 naira, approximately 77 Steem. And if I was to use an MBF, about 14 sheets would have done the job, and that would cost #420,000 naira, approximately 1,075 Steem..., this is way too much for just a shelve of a new shop. It makes no sense.

Where as, 1 plank goes for #3500 naira, approximately 9 Steem. We used about 35 pieces of planks for this job, and this amount to #122,500 naira, approximately 314 Steem using today's rate. And this makes a lot of sense to me.

After fixing the second side which is going to be done tomorrow, the next thing would be painting of those woods with an X colour...(guess the colour in the quiz section).

The next thing that was done was to install the shop sign post as you can see below, surprisingly that nylon would be unveil on the day of launching, just relax... 😀

Next task in the shop for this coming week

  • Painting of shelves
  • Final cleaning
  • Stocking of goods

Quiz result/ new quiz

The quiz was to arrange my next task according to the way they would happen - in that order. Unfortunately @adylinah tried it, but she didn't get it right 😀.

So, the next quiz would be:

  • to guess the colour I would use on the shelves
  • guess the information on this sign post correctly

I would share 15 Steem to the first 3 users with correct answers. If you drop your answer, you could invite your friends(real accounts) to participate. Let's catch some fun while waiting for the launching day.

Did you missed the previous updates?

Wow, this is so I impressive. Thank you @eliany for drawing my attention to this amazing project of @ubongudofot, it's really a well designed project.

For the Post quiz, since Steem is involved to the project, **i guess the colour of the shelves will be blue to blend with the already white wall and complete the steemit color, blue and white.

For the information on the sign post, I guess it would be Steem solar and electrical.

I'm inviting @alli001 @mhizta and @fortwis09 to make their suggestion.

Thank you for your guesswork..., wait till next update to see if you got it right.

Thank you sir, I'll eagerly and patiently wait.🤗

I'm happy to see this improvement you will get there soon.

For the colour of the shelves I guess it will be white to blend with the wall.

For the sign post, I guess the write up is; Steem Solar and Electrical Shop

Anticipating the launching o this shop

I wouldn't paint the shelves any colour at all, I don't think: they look good as they are.

If anything: dark grey. It looks as classy as black, but without making dust too visible ;-))

Without colour also look good, I think. But I just needed something catchy that's why I brought the idea of painting.

Looks like someone is trying to Spill the beans, but I won't say nothing...😋

By the way, I saw your house arrangement, I think it’s going great. I would create some time in the evening time to share an opinion there...

I've been busy all these days in the shop supervising the shop set up.

Oops! I couldn’t guess right the previous time but I will try again 😀
First of all, I will congratulate you for the fast progress of this project, you are almost at the finish line.

I will attempt the quiz now;

  1. The shelves color would be white
