How Can Steem Engine Benefit a Non-Profit?

in #steemengine6 years ago

Have you ever wanted to create incentives to encourage the behaviors you'd like to see in the world? It turns out that Clean Planet has started using Steem Engine and the STEEM blockchain to do just that. We've looked at a lot of ways Steem Engine can empower businesses and users of their products and services, but today we're going to look at something a bit more idealistic. It turns out the technology we now have available to us is as multifaceted as it is powerful and disruptive.

Clean Planet's mission statement proclaims 'Make tomorrow a better world, be rewarded today.' It's clear that protecting the environment and cleaning up trash are important to them, but they also realize that humans respond well to positive incentives. So the team started building a community on the STEEM blockchain to encourage people to actually join in and help clean up the Earth.

The team found a lot of help from like-minded individuals that wanted to support the mission and have received donations and delegations as well as many contributions of people participating in cleaning up their local environment. On April, 20th 2019, the team issued an airdrop of their community token to reward past acts and support, and the token is now live on the Steem Engine Market for anyone that wants to join in and support the mission. There is a four part series introducing the token available here: 1, 2, 3, 4

Clean Planet is an officially recognized non-profit association registered in France and with the growing community and issuance of their token, they've now enabled a new funding vehicle to help their mission grow while also rewarding the types of behaviors they want to see in the world. People can participate in doing the work and be rewarded, altruistic investors can buy their tokens to fund and encourage the work, and collectively Clean Planet can empower people to do the things we should all be mindful of in the first place. This is a great example of how Steem Engine can be utilized not only for profit, but to make the world a better place and empower an entire community to do good!

That's truly a win-win-win & drives mass adoption and real world use cases! Nice collab @steem-eng & @cleanplanet 👑

One of the only incentives that actually change things for the better outside the steem chain

The whole Team Clean Planet says to you: Thank you for this beautiful presentation of our movement!
We feel that the person who wrote this article knows his subject perfectly well.

We are ready to go as far as possible in the development of @cleanplanet:
Steem-Engine, Scot and now Nitrous, all these functions that we will be able to use in the future allows Non-Profit structures incredible possibilities!
We also took this opportunity to thank @aggroed and his entire Steem-Engine team once again for the help and support they offered us to set up our Token.

Now, at Clean Planet, we are so excited to be able to set up SCOTBOT (currently we are sending CTs manually) and of course Nitrous to have our own version of Steemit.com :

  • the problem we have to solve in order to be able to achieve all this is to find funds to cover the fixed initial cost (1000 ENG) + monthly cost.

Do you think that the operating costs could be adapted if it is for a Non-Profit structure?

Sorry I missed this. Can you DM me in Discord?
