President Prabowo Inspects Teupin Mane Bridge in Bireuen, Broken.
President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by Aceh Governor Muzakkir Manaf and Bireuen Regent H. Mukhlis, ST, inspected the Teupin Mane steel truss bridge on the Bireuen-Takengon highway, which collapsed due to flooding. A Bailey bridge is being built, Sunday (December 7, 2025).
According to information obtained during his working visit to Aceh Province, the Head of State was accompanied by several relevant officials from the Central Government after disembarking a helicopter in Gampong Pante Baro, Juli District.
The President, accompanied by the Aceh Governor, headed directly to the location of the visit in a Maung car bearing the white RI 1 badge to the Teupin Mane steel truss bridge on the Bireuen-Takengon national highway in Gampong Beunyoet, Juli District.
The President closely observed the construction of a Bailey bridge to open access to the Teupin Mane Bridge, which was cut off by floodwaters on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. The construction is being carried out by the Aceh Road Development Implementation Agency (BPJN) in collaboration with the PJN Work Unit and the Aceh Province PPK 3.6.
Next, the President, accompanied by the Governor of Aceh, headed to the evacuation site for residents of Bale Panah, Juli District, who are taking refuge at kilometer 8.5 of the Bireuen-Takengon national road. Upon arrival, the President greeted and shook hands with local officials, evacuees, and residents.
The President also observed the emergency response kitchen provided by the Iskandar Muda Military Command, the Aceh Government, and PLN at the evacuation site and enjoyed a meal at the evacuation center's public kitchen.
The President then continued his journey home by helicopter, following the RI 1 schedule, which included taking off for Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport (SIM) in Aceh Besar.
Meanwhile, Bireuen Regent H. Mukhlis, when asked about his meeting with the President during the visit, stated that he had conveyed the impact of the flooding in Bireuen Regency.
Approximately 29 bridges in Bireuen were swept away, and many residents remain isolated, although emergency access has been made possible today. Approximately 5,000 homes were damaged, with 3,000 lightly damaged and 2,000 heavily damaged and lost in the floodwaters.
Similarly, hundreds of schools were affected by the flooding, disrupting future teaching and learning activities. Seven irrigation dams also collapsed, impacting irrigation to community rice fields.
Furthermore, some community rice fields have become dry land due to being buried under soil and mud from the floodwaters. It is certainly heartbreaking to see this situation. Bireuen has had a surplus rice harvest, and there are concerns about a food crisis, he said.
Therefore, Regent Mukhlis stated that he requested the full attention of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto regarding the situation in Bireuen Regency following the flash floods a few days ago.
President Prabowo Subianto also conveyed his response, stating that he would make every effort to address the situation. He added that other regions still self-sufficient in food would assist Bireuen Regency to prevent a food crisis.
Regent Mukhlis added that the Bireuen Regency Government's efforts following the flood disaster have not given up and continue to fight. "However, we cannot handle the severe impact of this flood alone; we need the assistance of the central government," he hoped.
