We in Ukraine (even now) are undergoing rapid digitization. There are many positives in this. Digitization of some services greatly reduces corruption, speeds up the provision of services, and eliminates bureaucracy. But I agree with you, the complete transition to digital technology is problematic. There must always be an alternative.
If we were a developed, social and civil society with a state that cared at least a little about its inhabitants, I would believe in digitization too. But given the state of the country in general, any digitization campaigns, against the background of this, seem strange to me, to say the least. It just feels weird as other basic and very important things are missing at the same time. Of course we do many things as EU requirements. If it wasn't for the union, I can't even imagine where we would be now.
Once again, I note that Ukraine is clearly developing better than us. And we are not at war.
What would happen if we were at war?
I personally know the answer.
Difficult times demand more and give birth to leaders. If your country was at war, you would be surprised, because your government would also make important and correct decisions quickly. It is a matter of survival. Peace and comfort are relaxing⛱️.
This is an advantage of the EU. If the EU had not demanded reforms, many countries would never have done them.
