In the past, people are more 'pure', more simple minded. so, they are more honest. Now, people are more complex and complicated. And more cynical too.

Indeed, some of us still think that life was better in the past, that people were better, had greater moral values, etc.
But just yesterday I happened to talk to people who have lived longer than I have and have reach and access to legal topics and data. Especially for Bulgaria, it turns out that people were the same in the past, if not worse. It's just that back then, due to the constant information blackout and propaganda that sought to convey how wonderful life was under this political regime, little information reached ordinary people about various criminal cases, frauds, etc. These things may have simply become more sophisticated, and even more inventive.
