Massive Rally Organized by Bangladesh Islami Front in Chittagong

A massive rally was organized yesterday, November 15th, at the historic and famous Laldighi Maidan, bringing together all the Sunni masses of Greater Chittagong. Participants in the rally included members of the Bangladesh Islami Front, Islami Jubo Sena, and Islami Chhatra Sena from various Upazilas, Thanas, Unions, and Wards of Greater Chittagong. Countless Sunni Muslim people also attended the gathering from distant places.

A week before the rally, various publicity campaigns and discussion meetings were held at the grassroots level, starting from the Ward all the way up to the Union level. Since I was serving as the president of our Ward, I organized two discussion meetings where I invited people to participate in the rally. We arranged a vehicle from our Ward for the participants for both the journey to and from the rally.

The main objective of organizing this grand rally was to inspire everyone to work for the national interest through the party leaders, focusing on the current apolitical situation of society, the changing political landscape of the country, and issues related to the upcoming election. Since 2024, our country has been governed by an interim government, and there is a possibility of a national election in February 2026.

Voting is the right of the people, and Bangladesh is a democratic state where the government is formed through the people's votes. The people's right to vote was curtailed in the last three elections because the previous government had established a dictatorship and become fascist. Therefore, the entire nation is now expressing the hope that the upcoming election will be free and fair, allowing the people to vote for their preferred candidate.

In addition, several moral issues were discussed at the rally, where religious figures advised students on topics such as maintaining good character and behavior according to the right ideals, regular prayer and seeking the satisfaction of the Creator, participating in good societal works, building an ideal society, and teaching good manners to one's own family, among other subjects. The conclusion of the rally was announced around 5 PM, and everyone was bid farewell.
