I walk away

It is very difficult to do something like that when it involves neighbors. One always has to be careful with neighbors. To tell the truth, as we said goodbye, they said something like, "We don't know how to thank you." And I was on the verge of telling them that the most important thing is simply having them there, and the fact that, for some strange reason, we get along now, regardless of what happened in the past.
I think the human element is crucial, especially now, when no one knows what lies ahead. But, in reality, it has always been important. At the very least, when something happens, it matters to know you can call someone... for something. And that that person lives right next door...
As I said, things are very complex, multi-layered, and multifaceted, and human relationships are difficult, tangled, and hard to fathom.
