If Mornings Came With a Reset Button

Sometimes I wish that when we fall asleep and wake up, yesterday ends completely. Not just the day, but everything that came with it. The mistakes, the regrets, the overthinking, the guilt. As if the night quietly erased all the data and handed us a brand-new morning.

No questions to answer.
No fear chasing us.
No sadness, no heaviness, no “I should have done better.”

Just a fresh start.

Imagine waking up with no memory of yesterday. No pressure to fix what went wrong. No need to explain yourself to anyone. Life simply saying, here’s another day, another chance...do whatever you want with it.

Maybe then we’d choose to be a little different.

A little more kind.
A little more responsible.
More empathetic. More genuine.
Less ego, more humility.
More patient. More forgiving.

Maybe we’d slow down enough to notice things we usually ignore...the warmth of a cup of tea, a quiet morning, someone checking in on us, the comfort of familiar faces. All those ordinary things we take for granted because we’re too busy carrying yesterday.

If everything reset, maybe we’d love more freely.
Hope more honestly.
Live more fully.

Or maybe we’d still do the same things we did yesterday. Fall into the same patterns. React the same way. Rush through the day without really being there.

And that’s when it hits you...maybe the reset button already exists.

It’s called morning.

It’s not perfect. The memories stay. The lessons stay. The scars too. But every day still gives us a new page, even if the book isn’t blank.

So maybe today, we don’t need to erase everything to live better.
Maybe we just need to be a little more present.
A little more thankful.
A little more alive than we were yesterday.
More present in conversations.
More appreciative of people.
More aware of how precious ordinary moments really are.

And maybe… that’s enough.
Maybe that’s what it means to be alive.

You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are, and change the ending.
