SLC31-W6" // Steem Expedition, Hidden Gems and Local Secrets: My Best Recommendation.

Hello friends, I hope you are all well. For the last week of the Steemit Challenge contest, I will be sharing my experience and a review of Hidden Gems and Local Secrets. I would like to thank the organizers of this challenge, and without further delay, I am starting my participation.

Parade Ground

My personal favorite spot that I have visited is the Parade Ground of Chittagong College. It is an open field and space that is open to the general public. There is no chance for anyone to get bored here; it is a place where people are always seen happy and smiling.

This field is essentially the Parade Ground of one of the most prominent public colleges in my city, Chittagong College. It is located opposite the Moti Complex in the Chawkbazar area. There is no specific time to visit here—the general public can visit this place at any time.

My proof of visiting card

The parade ground is massive in size. Very often, local football and cricket tournaments are organized here. The field is surrounded by an 8-9 feet wall, and right next to the wall, there is a paved road where ordinary people can go jogging in the morning and evening.

While everyone plays sports on the main field, the public uses the surrounding road for jogging. I share a lot of memories with this field. I finished my college life in this area, so this field is very familiar to me, and I have played matches here with my friends several times.

When entering the field, there is a steel chain gate. This gate is located on the west side, and one must enter through this gate to get inside. Having a gate keeps the environment of the field safe, and outside boys cannot come here to engage in any kind of unethical activities. Right next to the gate, the rules of the parade ground are written on a paper, which catches everyone's eye upon entering.

On the north side of the field, there is a somewhat wide road. Previously, one could go to the residential buildings through this road via the main gate of the college, but currently, this passage is kept closed. Now, the public comes to this road just to wander around.

Both sides of this road are lined with large trees. The green leaves of the trees and the shade falling on the road look wonderful. This road is very cool, and once upon a time, I used to walk along this road with my friends, hanging out and having fun.

The parade ground is so massive that it takes a long time just to walk from one end to the other. Because the place is large, young boys get a great opportunity to play sports. In fact, it is so big that you can see cricket being played on one side, football on another side, handball on one corner, and badminton on another.

Since the space is huge, it is possible to play several types of games simultaneously. And if you want to play, you don't have to fulfill any criteria; everyone plays these matches together, so any visitor can participate in the games if they wish. Many people also enjoy watching the games as spectators.

For elderly people, the Chittagong Parade Ground is a safe place for jogging. Honestly, you hardly find any empty spaces in the city, and on the main roads, there is always a chance of jogging being disturbed by traffic, which prevents a proper workout.

There is a beautiful walking road around the parade ground that spans the entire field. Because of the tree shade on the road, people come here for running and jogging. I have noticed that people find a lot of joy while jogging here.

Why, among so many places, did you choose this one as your best recommendation?

Out of all the places, the reason I recommend the parade ground as my top choice is its beauty and its uniqueness. Nowadays, whether in villages or cities, there is no place with such a large space like the parade ground for playing and sitting down to hang out. Therefore, you can easily participate in sports with everyone here, or it can be the best place to sit down and chat with friends.

What is the perfect time to visit and what is the vibe like at that moment?

When you visit here, you will find it full of people, but I would recommend visiting during the afternoon. This is because the heat of the sun decreases by then, and you won't face any discomfort sitting on the parade ground. There is a specific corner for hanging out with friends where street vendors sell peanuts, fuska, chotpoti, tea, and coffee in the afternoon. So coming in the afternoon allows you to enjoy these perks as well.

If you had to change something about this place, what would it be and why?

If I had the opportunity to change anything here, I would improve the waste disposal system for the public and arrange for hygienic public washrooms for the visitors, which I believe is very much needed.

If you had to invite someone from your family or a Steemian to visit this place, who would you take and what reasons would you give them to convince them to go?

If I ever get the chance to invite anyone from my family, I will invite my cousin brothers to the parade ground. I would encourage them to play cricket on this ground and convince them to visit. Honestly, in our area, my cousins and I no longer have a good space to play matches like before, and the parade ground is an ideal and perfect place for any match.
