Good points. It will be interesting to hear if Ned thinks it's ready to go mainstream. I met @blewitt here today. I'm sure he has opinions on this
Since @ned already has hinted at developing a new front end user interface that’s geared for the masses, I think everything @arseniclullaby has discussed here is spot on... but Steemit may not be the site to carry us toward the finish line. And competing projects like Appics and the new version of Busy could shape up nicely. But it’s still on the developers of these apps and the communities they form to tackle these same issues.
I’ve always been ok with Steemit being a proof of concept that’s eclipsed by other projects, but all the points above apply to every user & entrepreneur on Steem. I’m personally most enthused by projects like the SteemPress plugin and the possibilities of existing big sites adopting Steem, a Trojan Horse strategy in a sense.
