Made In Abyss (Show Review)

WARNING LIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD

So i finally happened to see the anime "Made in Abyss" and i have to say...........its actually not as dark as i expected it to be.
The story takes place on earth in a somewhat fantasy yet future type setting where a mysterious hole in the ground resides called the "Abyss".
Adventurers go into the abyss to find relics,treasures and find out the mystery of the abyss.The downpart is, the deeper you go into the abyss, the harder it is to get back up.Adventures(or Cave Raiders as theyre called in the show) have to bear with the "curse of the abyss" which consists of Nausea,Vomitting,Bleeding through EVERY part of your body,lost of ones humanity and death depending on how deep you go in to the abyss.
The show revolves around Riko,an orphan girl who is also a junior cave raider who finds a robot boy,Reg, in the first layer of the abyss.
She receives a letter from the bottom of the abyss from her supposedly dead mother which entailed that riko come join her in the abyss.
Riko and Reg then escape and begin their journey to the final layers of the abyss,facing monsters,the curse of the abyss and all dangers of sort.

Now...i did see a few a clips of the show and thought "Wow! thats some really dark sh*t that id like to get into."
And although the show is ehh...dark...its not as dark as expected.
I guess its just really psycological and messes with your head and emotions.This especially when Riko had to go through the strains of the fourth layer after being poisoned.It was really heartbreaking seeing our lovable Riko in agonizing pain while she bled endlessly from every part of he body.

It was more painful when Reg had to break rikos arm and butcher it with a knife to release riko of her pain....
The last arc where they met Nanachi,a human who escaped the consequences of the Abyss Curse and her friend Mity also had the emotional twist to it...but that was all..Emotional..
I think what really is the major factor that disturbs people the most is that the characters are kids in their 10's and seeing them going through countless agonizing pain reaks our hearts.
Basically, ive seen more darker shit its a good show by the way...id give it a 6/10..
Its just too overrated.
