Diary : The Taste is Never Same
Stemians
Since I haven't eaten fruit salad for a long time, yesterday afternoon I decided to buy a portion of rujak from one of my favorite rujak stalls around my place.
With a price of 10 thousand rupiah, one pack of rujak can be taken home and enjoyed at home.
Rujak is one of the traditional foods in Indonesia.
The fruit salad that I bought is made from a mixture of fruits, such as mango, jicama, pineapple, papaya, cucumber, and kedondong.
What distinguishes this fruit salad from other fruit salads is the sauce made of brown sugar cooked with a mixture of salt, shrimp paste and sugar. Then the sauce is pulverized with additional fried peanuts, tamarind and cayenne pepper according to taste.
This fruit salad mixture produces a sour, spicy, and sweet taste that is fresh on the tongue.
