I find SolarGaps a very interesting concept and innovation for solar energy production.
I have seen various kinds of Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) before such as SolarWindows. However, as the term implies, "Building Integrated" usually requires a lot of careful planning so that the window panels integrate well with the building structure, integrity and architecture.
In other words, BIPV is an engineering feature that is more difficult and complex than it looks.
SolarGaps however offers a more interestingly simple plug-and-play solution. It looks like something that potentially can be bought from off the shelves of supermarkets and easily installed.
SolarGaps also offers a solar generation solution for people who live in high rises and condominums as traditionally own no roof top to generate solar.
Lastly, I love the fact that this product might offer a genuinely innovative and literally cool solution for large office buildings. It cleverly utilises vertical space, keeps the building cooler and the renewable electricity may contribute in reducing expensive air-conditiong costs.
