Hunter's comment

Licensing open-source software is a though job. There are lots of licenses available and it's not easy to study and understand all of them.

Licensed is an open-source command line application to make things simpler on this subject.

It asks a couple of questions to you to select the right license for your needs and creates a LICENSE file at the end of the process.

It's a NPM package so you can just install it by using npm i -g licensed.

Hola @emrebeyler

It's great to discover the great hunting you show and this is my opinion about your hunt

Pros:

Probably not many people understand and use Licensed, but I'm sure your hunt is great and helpful, because:

  • This app changed the open-source command to be simpler
  • The right choice for your licensing needs
  • Can be installed using npm i -g licensed.

Cons:

  • None for this hunt

I will give value to your hunt

Great hunt!

For me as a developer and a hard core VS code user, I used Licenser instead. Just CMD/CTRL + SHIFT + P, Licenser: Create License File, it will inject preset default Licesne into your project with the name and email given in VSCode work space.
