Hunter's comment

Delta Chat is an instant messenger which works on email communication. It is an open source app that uses encryption for secure communication. You can send and recieve messages from all email providers. It allows you to use your email communication as an instant messenger which makes it easy to manage your message traffic.

Because it uses email communication there is no central servers to manipulate your private data. If both sides use Delta Chat (or any autocrypt app), end to end encryption is used to secure your messages. OpenPGP is used for e2e encryption which is a standard.

Android version works fine, desktop versions are available and work fine too. IOS version is in progress. You can use Delta Chat with almost every email provider.

NOW Thanks For Stopping By LIKE Always!

This good to now that now we can chat with email securely. Gmails are most attacked in case of hacking and I personally do not trust it. But this feature ensures encryption without any middle servers.

CONGRATULATIONS...!

With governments across the globe keeping close tab on user activities, it is essential that such encrypted platforms are used by people so that their personal lives are not interfered. I see that this is quite a secure and unique instant communication platform.
Nice Hunt.

This is a good messaging app. I closer look at their website says more about its independence. While it is compared to Telegram and WhatsApp, it has not central control.

The good thing about this application is that it helps you to chat with those you have their email addresses and they do not need to have Delta Chat installed to reply you.

The implementation of this on web application will reduce the number of your unread messages via email. Nice hunt!

Wow! I just heard about WhatsApp encrypted app to chat over internet. Now this instant messaging looks quite appealing to me. This is a best tool for businesses. But still, I wont trust on it. Nice hunting

If it uses email communication then it is really an impressive. Security is always a great threat for users over inernet. But hope that this type of source can make things safe.

Even I have some question marks in my mind, it looks like great with its features. I am sorry to see that its ios version is in progress. I will check it, when it is available. Great hunt.

@alamar there is a beta testing version for ios users. you can try and find more info if you check their website.

That's great. Thanks for the information @fako .

I use DeltaChat since their first developement versions, and it's awesome! It has gained rapid acceptance and a fast growing developement team, my humble contribution was to initially translate the website to spanish. I use DeltaChat every day, it's the only messenger I trust, I recommend it and I love it.

I think telegram and whatsapp are also encrypted. Basis your comments i understand that this uses email provider's servers for chats? Unlike others? But how is that better than whatapp? Actually if i can use it with proton mail or any other paid and secure email service then its great. Also, what if the party at the other end isn't using this chat? Do they get emails? If yes, then people will unfriend me.

you may use it with proton mail if i am not mistaken for encrypted messaging. The main diffrence from whatsapp and telegram is Delta Chat is %100 open source so it is transparent and open audition. And Delta chat dont have centralized servers like Telegram and Whatsapp where all your data is stored. And also unlike whatsapp and telegram, you can communicate with people who dont have the same app like yours, just email adress is enough, no phone number required which is also a privacy issue.

@fako, this is a cool hunt. First time I see that you can use instant messenger with messages with our email clients. This is going to be so convenient to communicate. I like the fact that it is not just available in apps but that I can use the desk top version for the Android version. This is most needed when we use the computer all day. Great hunt.
