That’s an interesting observation. @happyme
From what I have seen, many are now considering on-line learning instead of returning to the classroom. Now that so many have been forced to use distance learning, they found that it offered several advantages. By eliminating the need to physically be in class, someone could technically take a course at a university in one city and another course in a totally different city and university. And if one doesn't need a diploma, one could learn almost anything for free! Someone I know taught himself anatomy, nutrition, muscle structure, animation, programming, 3-D modelling, sound design, etc. all for free on the Internet.
