CAD, or computer aided design is the first step to drawing a prototype. Kind of "drawing board" stage. Now what if the company wants to know what the CAD drawing will look like. Manufacturing one is expensive, and even a 3D printed one, though cheaper, is an expense best avoided.
Meshroom VR is a big step forward in seeing the prototype of a CAD drawing. Simply upload the design into the Meshroom VR studio and the software will convert the drawing to a 1:1 prototype that users can actually interact with. In fact Ford has already tried that, ie developing VR prototypes of their models.
At $2700 per year license, a VR compatible PC and htc vive, its still much cheaper that making an actual prototype.
Pretty cool stuff!

Thanks @dayleeo!
Nah, someone will say to me that i am CAD lover again :face_palm:.
VR tech really change how we can produce anything. Oh ya, can we manipulate that prototypes directly in our VR?, i mean after converting from CAD. If it's possible, then your hunt is really the best today.
This is some thing we need because it cost less and take less time and work. as compare to designing a new prototype . the best thing about this is we can change the CAD drawing and your prototype is changed and it won,t cost you alot of money.
Mashtoom VR is really some thing we need in future to save time and money.
Your point is very valid and you bring forward an excellent point about how this tool brings flexibility to the prototype design and fabrication stage.
I use creo parametric for design purposes and it would be a great enhancement, if I can view the mechanical parts that I creat in virtual reality.
Great for presenting the designed products to customers and interested parties...
I wonder if it can import the creo or autodesk extensions...
I didn't look into that kind of detail tbh, regarding your third point.
To your first point, yeah the utility of this platform is great to kind of see graphical structures in real life.
lolzzz...I don't expect you to know soo much details, of course...too much technical!!!
Haha, well that's great then. I would have tried to answer, if at least my background was in engineering design.
lolzzz:)
Some technologies/inventions/products are simply mind blowing, VR is one of them. It is surprisingly amazing to see it expanding its claws to so many fields. It is really doing wonders for the people and the current product is no exception.
It is not only useful in getting rid of the weaknesses of the designs but is also providing cheaper prototypes. If you think a little more deeply, it is also saving the time, which could be wasted in printing the prototypes before the final touches.
@karamyog, this is a great hunt. Surely, meshroom VR is a big step forward to convert CAD drawings into virtual reality prototypes, It looks simply as it is just uploading the design into the Meshroom VR studio and then the software can convert it to a ratio 1:1. Great hunt this one.
I am sure that the 1st who introduce this kind of search on this platform. Convert CAD drawings into VR prototypes is a great featured that you introduce here. This is a big step in CAD.
I like the mashroom vr which which offers such a nice feature.
Great hunt.
Thanks for your comment. Yeah, i think this is s great application of vr tech, specially when it comes to prototypes. I used CAD software pre 2008, and i remember how unreal the drawings were. Pretty sure CAD has improved manifold from then, but the cost benefit aspect of this tech is immense.
Great search Mr @karamyog, indeed this one is epic. Awesomeness is at it's peak here. And I must appreciate the makers of this great idea because this one is much more better than 3d printed protypes. What an innovation. Love it and I wish this one should remain at top place. Very true saying:
Please keep sharing more stuff like that. Thanks for your great contribution man.
I agree with you @karamyog using the Meshroom Vr is a better alternative than just creating a working model from scratch as it will save you valuable time and resources used in designing and redesigning a prototype.Using the Mesh VR you can tinker all you like and come out with a viable prototype for production.
Yes, it is true that CAD, or computer-aided design, is the first step in drawing a prototype. Without it, no drawing is possible. And through this it is possible to present everything beautifully.
This is really a unique hunt presented to you in front of us today. It is possible to create prototype easily through it. In one word it is an extraordinary Hunt. Thanks for share with us.
Some drawing is possible, but I'm kidding, i know you mean engineering drawing. I also thought this was unique tech abd a great application of vr. Thanks for commenting.
