Paywalls are a necessary par of most large scale developments, services and content creations. One of the biggest problems popularizing open source non-cypto software is that they are free. There is very little investment in the ecosystem and you tend to get what you pay for. Getting rid of the "F" in "FOSS" can actually help to jumpstart the creation and development of these open source software.
Almost every language and platform is supported. I think GitRoyalty has the potential to create a very large impact.
