SLC27-W6 // Rescue Garden Restaurant
Welcome to Rescue Garden Kitchen. You're spending money elsewhere on food that doesn't taste good? Don't worry, Rescue Garden is here to your rescue. It's actually a new restaurant, but it has gotten fame in the eyes and mouths of people living in Uyo. Not all restaurants give you the best. Let me shock you. This is one restaurant in Uyo with green scenery that makes you feel like you're eating in the Garden of Eden.
Identification — Name of Place |
|---|
This place is Rescue Garden Restaurant. I may not know the reason why this place is named after such, but I'm sure they have their reasons. It actually has a good name. The rescue kitchen... You won't see it on social media because the manager has decided to make his first premiere sort of. He wants people to do the talking online before opening a social media handle or a website.
Location and how to get there |
|---|
Rescue Garden Restaurant is located close to the heart of my city, but the specific location is at **Ring Road, Oron Rd, Uyo. You can get to this place by using three axes. It's either you're coming from Nung Oku Junction or from Nwaniba through the ring road or from Oron Rd. Either way can be used to get to this place. The manager or founder of this place is an influential man, though his name and brand remain concealed from me.
As to management, he doesn't leave his place to the manager he hired alone. He works alongside his manager to ensure other workers are working efficiently, and he makes sure to have this friendly composition with his staff. He ensures his place is highly esteemed, as it should be. The serenity and the reactions of customers are kept in check. The only means of communication is the contact of the manager, as he chooses not to open a website and social media handle for now until he gets what he wants. He wants his place to be in people's mouths first. Such a smart start.
Their Activities and Employees |
|---|
They carry out a lot of activities in this place, which include delivery services, cooking, serving, stage performing, karaoke, cleaning and the like. Can you imagine that? All these activities aren't run by one person. They are run by different people, and if I'm to scale, they have over 10 employees. They have a man they call Boss. He's in charge of the kitchen, bar, reception and stage area. Stage? Don't worry, I'll talk about it. There are about 4 ladies in the kitchen area. Those serving in the bar for drinks are 4. Those serving in the restaurant are about 5 because the place is spacious and they have a lot of customers to attend to, especially at night.
All these employees work hand-in-hand to ensure their customers are given the best of service, nothing less.
Environment, Structure, Security and Electricity |
|---|
It's funny they don't have a security post for security personnel since it's not a hotel or so, but they have walking security both at the entrance and in facilities to prevent armed men. Considering their environment and structures, it was attracted by this. Like, this gave me the first impression to visit this popular restaurant for the first time. I was like, I can't pass like that. Let me see what these people offer.

The serenity is 100%. The ground is tarred with cement. The environment is filled with beautiful green trees and flowers that make the place a garden, as the name implies. Should I call this place the garden of Eden? It is worth calling because of everything put in place, the flower vases and exterior designs with green artificial flowers.

Fan and AC
They have a large electric lamp by the pole close to their restaurant. This lamp shines brilliantly at night, making the place extra visible to people. They have fans and lighting in the interior sections of their restaurant.
Facilities |
|---|
There are various facilities in this rescue garden. I'll start from the entrance to the ends of the place. At the entrance, they have a mini kitchen where foods are prepared by the chefs. This place is an open outlet with a metal covering in cases of weather changes.
- The Restaurant's open space: Those who prefer sitting outside can do so at their own will, as there are chairs and tables for those that want nature to touch them a bit.
- The inner cycle space: This place is for those who would want to sit inside, and it's a space in cases of rain where customers won't be able to sit outside.

- The VIP section: This VIP section is different from the main seating space that has the restaurant's name. It has a toilet for both male and female customers and can be accessible to anyone except the seating area in this place. The seating area is for those who want VIP treatment in this rescue garden.

Their prices are affordable. Not just affordable, it tastes better than most restaurants I've been too. Let me talk about my experience in this place and the quality of their service. Before that, they accept cash, card and online transfer payment for services and food purchased. They always give takeaways to those who won't want to eat in their place.
Their customer service and my experience |
|---|
I'm satisfied with their customer service. They treat all their customers as guests, and they give listening ears to your offer regardless of the price you may bargain with them. My experience in this place was one in a million. It's been a long time since I tasted quality food from a restaurant.
Of all the Nkwobi I've tasted, this tends to beat them all. It even comes with plantain and veggies. Like.....It tasted great. I had this special meal worth #3500 with my friend, who was on the verge of cleaning the plate with his tongue. If you've not visited this place, you're missing a lot.

Evidence that the food tastes differently
What is the typical dish that represents the gastronomy of your country? |
|---|
The typical dishes that represent the gastronomy of my country, Nigeria, are Nkwobi and Isi Ewu, which mean 'cow leg with plantain' and 'goat head'. You see these two special meals; Nigerians don't joke with them. It's just that the price for Isi Ewu is exorbitant. If it were less than the current price, a lot of people would be purchasing it. Nigerians love meat. So this typical dish I ate in Rescue Garden is Nkwobi and plantain, and it was served on a platter of gold for me.
The food is traditionally inclined because it comes with veggies, palm oil sauce, onions and the like. It is best served hot and pepper-filled. That's the only way you can feel the taste of this traditional dish.
If you had to recommend a dish from this restaurant, what would it be and why? |
|---|
It would still be Nkwobi because I've never tasted Nkwobi with plantain before. It's just the meat itself. Ths plantain combo is always lacking from other restaurants. Rescue garden made me see the essence of combining hot Nkwobi with plantain and sauce. You need to taste this combo at rescue garden.
A trial will definitely convince you like it did convince me. Just look at it. There are people looking for such dish to taste but don't know where to purchase it. They go as far as paying their way to town when they have a kitchen closer to them.
Name a popular dish from another country that you have tried or would like to try? |
|---|
American hamburgers are what I'd love to taste. Though we have burgers in Nigeria, it may not taste the same way Americans prepare theirs. This is what I'd love to try someday no matter the cost. It's an iconic dish and the condiments inside would definitely taste different.
If you've not visited Rescue Garden Restaurant to be rescued from tastes that aren't unique, you're missing a lot. It's a stone's throw from your place. Even if you want their meals to be delivered to you, fine and good. You contact them with the information above.
