Daily Menu Delicacies Week No.114. (16-03-2026) // Love & Flavors from Bologna
We looked at the menu and decided to try some of these traditional small Italian breads, called tigelle. They were round, flat breads, about 10 cm in diameter. They were traditionally baked on special ceramic discs or cast iron plates, although nowadays electric appliances are often used for convenience. They were cut in half and can be filled with sausages, cheeses, garlic and rosemary.
Our meal was accompanied by several bowls of nuts, raisins, and olives :)
To quench our thirst, we ordered something refreshing, namely two Negroni cocktails, which is a classic Italian aperitif drink. It is made from equal parts gin, red vermouth, and Campari, served over ice and garnished with a slice of red orange. It had a slightly bittersweet taste.
To finish, we couldn't help but order a real Italian pizza, accompanied by an ice-cold beer :)
