Dear Steemit friends, I am @green015 from India. I hope you are all doing well and staying healthy. I am doing quite well myself.Today, I will share with you my experience of a Weekly Fresh Vegetable Market.

My dear friends, I am absolutely delighted to participate in today's "The Daily Food Shopping Game (Week No. 124)"contest. I previously had no experience whatsoever with vegetables shopping. However, after moving into a hostel—and when this responsibility fell upon me for a period of 15 days—I gained a significant amount of experience in the matter. And that is precisely what I am going to share with you now. This contest is truly wonderful, and I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to @steemit-Ironchef for organizing it. Furthermore, I owe a debt of gratitude to @crismenia. I hope you will thoroughly enjoy this post regarding my shopping experiences.

Here is: contest link. Anyway, let's get started--

I feel that true experience is gained by stepping out of the house from time to time.As time passes, people learn a great many things—some out of situational necessity, while others simply acquire knowledge naturally over time. Similarly, the "messing" system of hostel life serves as a training ground, teaching us the fundamentals that act as the first stepping stone toward domestic life. It involves rushing to attend to various needs, learning how to shop for groceries, and fulfilling a diverse range of responsibilities. Ultimately, it fosters self-reliance and helps us gain a sound understanding of the external environment, the wider world, and the nature of people. It can truly be described as a remarkable experience.

To purchase raw materials—specifically vegetables—we had to wake up quite early, freshen up, and head out of the hostel. Since the market we intended to visit was located quite far away, we had to catch a toto (electric rickshaw) immediately upon leaving the hostel premises. We also carried along several mesh potato sacks to make it easier to carry the vegetables while navigating through the market. The two of us went together to "Tentultala Market," a place where a major vegetable wholesale hub is established.

After bargaining, we bought a variety of essential vegetables—specifically beans, tomatoes, raw mangoes, ginger, and jackfruit (the tender, green variety). The vegetables were quite heavy; carrying them, we waited for a 'Toto' (electric rickshaw) at a corner of the market. We also collected receipts from each vendor, noting the quantity and price of the vegetables purchased. All in all, the day's shopping experience was both thoroughly enjoyable and physically demanding, as the two of us had to carry the heavy sacks of vegetables all around the market.

Interestingly, some shopkeepers kept urging me to buy coconuts, even offering to lower the price; however, since I rely on a mess for meals, I didn't end up buying any. Located in the very heart of Bardhaman town, ‘Tetultala Bazar’ is extremely popular; goods are sold here at wholesale rates, making it a very convenient place for those wishing to stock up on groceries or food supplies for future use. After waiting a while, we loaded the sacks of vegetables onto a ‘Toto’ and returned to the hostel. Finally, we neatly arranged the vegetables in the hostel’s storeroom. Additionally, I had to organize the bills from each market visit, placing them inside envelopes marked with the respective dates.
