You get steempower by investing in steem. More steem you have, more power you have.
I think better way is buy steem and wait till steem will cost 10 USD and sell.

Some I have seen have houndreds of thousands of dollars invested in steem power.... I think for 50 bucks a post you would need around 70k invested.
