The Letter I Never Sent
Sara had kept the letter folded in her drawer for years. Every time she opened it, her heart would ache. It was meant for her father, who had left when she was just a child.
Today, she finally gathered the courage. Sitting by the window, she unfolded the paper and read aloud:
"Dad, I hope you are happy. I want you to know that I forgive you, even though it hurt me. I just wish you were here to see who I’ve become."
Tears streamed down her face. For the first time in years, she felt a strange sense of peace. Though he was gone, Sara realized that forgiveness doesn’t need an audience—it lives in the heart.
She folded the letter back and placed it on the table, smiling softly. Life hadn’t given her everything she wanted, but it had given her the strength to let go.
