Yesterday, I noticed supercomputing has taken over the mining queue. This is the run down from yesterday:
- Around 10 pm UTC time I made my first post about the concern. A few miners responded with concern as well.
- An hour later, I made another post expressing my frustration. A few miners responded with disheartening comments.
- Another hour later, It gets to a point I believed this needs immediate attention. I made a post with a Warning title.
- Finally, at about 1am UTC, @officialfuzzy noticed it and commented that he will inform the right people.
- And a few more hour later, @rainman commented that they were aware of the "loophole" that supercomputing is exploiting, and is fixing it. They will implement this fix in the next hardfork.
- This morning @liondani brought good news, that the fix is ready.
Here is today's update: Apparently, supercomputing is exploiting a "loophole" in the mining algorithm. The fix is ready. But, There is no official word about when it will be implemented.
I'm pleasantly surprised that so few people decided to abuse that loophole before a fix got made.
I guess that is considered a bug bounty for him.
